The chapter on bluebird nestboxes and other hardware is written by Bluebird-L stalwart, Keith Kridler, and much of the rest of the book is information from Cynthia Berger's interviews with numerous Bluebird-L participants and others. Berger was the National Wildlife Federation's Science Writer of the Year for 2000. The book is a comprehensive and up-to-date treatment of everything that interests bluebird monitors, both trail operators and backyard bluebirders. It is lavishly illustrated and written in a lively fashion that makes it fun to read as well as informative. Bluebird-L contributors include Bruce Burdett, Alicia Craig, Erv Davis, Shelly Ducharme, Fawzi Emad, Steve Garr, Hatch Graham, Joe Huber, Sherry Hunter, David Magness, Koby Prater, Haleya Priest, Dick Purvis, Kevin Putman, Arlene Ripley, Dean Sheldon, Darlene Sillick, Gary Springer, Linda Violett, Bob Walshaw, Jim Walters, Ann Wick, and Rob Yaksich.
