Over wintering Bluebirds 2001

Here is list of reports received about bluebirds sighted between Jan 1, 2001 and Jan 31, 2001.  My dates are chosen to reflect only birds that are obviously not going to migrate are legitimately considered (in my opinion) over wintering.  I only accept one report per state.   (jump to the map)

Here were the rules:

Anyone can submit a sighting. In other words no restrictions that the person must be subscribed to one of the lists.

You can submit a sighting by email, phone, snail mail. You can even submit a sighting for someone else.

I will use the date you state that you saw the birds. Only one sighting per state will be accepted. In case of ties (two sightings from the same state, same species, for the same date) the date and time of the email will be the tie breaker (earliest wins).

Acceptable sighting dates include from today January 1 thru January 31. My intent is to only identify over wintering bluebirds, not early arriving bluebirds nor ones that decided to hang around till it got too cold or they ran out of easily attainable food.

Include with your sighting at least the following (feel free to include more, I will include what I deem pertinent):

OK, as you can see the rules are pretty simple and we are on the honor system so lets be honorable. Don't send me a note that your sighting was on a CBC on 12/31/00 and be mad that I won't accept it.
