Current Projects
Below are two of the larger projects that Audubon Society of Omaha (ASO) has recently helped make possible. To learn about the 13-acre prairie preserve that ASO maintains, please click here.
Neale Woods
ASO partnered with Fontenelle Forest Conservation Department for a 10-acre hilltop savanna restoration project at Neale Woods in North Omaha along what is known as Hilltop Trail. The goal is to remove invasive species through a multi-staged process so that wildlife will return.
Glacier Creek Prairie
ASO has significantly contributed to the University of Nebraska Foundation to help the University of Nebraska-Omaha acquire a tract of prairie adjacent to the Glacier Creek Preserve in northwest Omaha.
