Join Grasslands Unlimited on this educational hike to learn about restoration, conservation and the making of the prairie ecosystem more accessible to the public. Cottonwood Creek Preserve is among their latest projects that help return native plant species and wildlife to an urban area. This easy 1 mile hike will be on flat grassy terrain. There will be plenty of time for discussion and Q/A as you learn about Grasslands Unlimited and what they do. We recommend comfortable closed toe walking shoes, long pants and encourage the use of sunscreen and bug spray. All ages are welcome. Please make sure to bring plenty of water to drink for yourself and children. Parking is available on 79th St east of the property. No restrooms are available. Bring binoculars to spot birds in the area. Please register on Audubon Society of Omaha website as space is limited. There is no charge for this activity.
