Omaha Youth Birding Group Field Trip

Monday, December 18, 2017
Fontenelle Forest - Bellevue

December marks the 118th annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Groups are asked to census both the species and numbers of birds on their assigned trails or roads in and around Bellevue. Last year the light was gray and made seeing the birds difficult, so our listening and birding by ear was essential. Our group was excited to hear and then spot an elusive Pileated Woodpecker. This year it’s your chance to help us complete the mission. Our group will meet at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue at 9 a.m.

Please note that if there is a cancelation due to weather, it will be posted on the website and on Facebook.

For those of you new to Audubon, this group is composed of youth ranging in age from 8 to 19. Younger youth must be accompanied by an adult. There is no formality or annual time requirement to enjoy this group experience. Drop in, come give it a try. It’s a fun bonding experience for you and your favorite youth.
